You can do a few simple things to prepare for these tests.

  • Take your medications before your test unless your instructed otherwise.
  • Don’t smoke before the test if possible.
  • If you use a short-acting inhaler, try not to use it for 6 to 8 hours before the test. If you do have to use it, let your provider know before the test.
